Lachlan Thompson Represents JLL International Rugby Tournament Asia
The second annual Guinness Shanghai International 7’s rugby tournament was contested by 15 teams including entrants from Japan, Shanghai and United States-based corporations and universities.
Thompson was the only Australian to represent the JLL team for the rugby seven sport, which is faster version of the traditional “15-a-side” rugby game.
Celebrations for the victory however were cut short after the unexpected death of Lachlan’s father, Collingwood ruckman Len Thompson on Tuesday. The Brownlow medallist and Copeland Trophy winner was 60 years old.
