Guy Pearce sells Middle Park investment

Kinane in Brighton sold last July – at the heart of lockdown.

Actor Guy Pearce has sold a Middle Park investment property after four years.

The unrenovated home at 339 Richardson Street (pictured, top) traded for $4.2 million yesterday.

The LA Confidential, Memento and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert star paid $4.1m in November, 2017 – weeks after the last property cycle peak.

His stamp duty bill would have added more than c$200,000 to that price.

The home was rented in 2018 at $850 per week.

Greg Hocking Holdworth’s Simon Gowling and Max Mercuri were the sales agents (story continues below).

Mr Pearce is understood to reside in the area.

Yesterday’s sale comes a month after former deputy lord mayor Gary Singer spent $22m on Trawalla, in Lascelles Avenue, Toorak, which hit the market with a $27m guide.

In Brighton, meanwhile, the sale price of the landmark Kinane mansion, developed by Max Beck, has come through – at $10.996m for the home, and $5.5m for a subdivided side plot.

The amalgamation had an upper guide of $17m when it was listed last June – the heart of lockdown.

In February, Kogan founder Ruslan Kogan paid $15m – a $2m discount – for a Flinders estate.
