Ruslan Kogan snares Mornington Peninsula getaway for $2m discount

Ruslan Kogan has paid $12.91 million for a Flinders home on 5.2ha and $2.09m for a Green Wedge block next door.

Ruslan Kogan has paid $15 million for a Flinders weekender on 10 hectares.

The Musk Creek Road property was listed in 2019 by a different agency – and expected to break the suburb’s $17m record set four years ago when Daniel and Danielle Besen sold 29.5ha estate Miramar to The Good Guys boss Andrew Muir.

However after failing to find favour, the vendor offered it as two – and re-listed last year.

Ironically Mr Kogan purchased both – paying $12.91m for a portion with a five bedroom Stephen Akehurst home.

The neighbouring Green Wedge tract measuring 4.8ha cost $2.09m.

The deals settled last quarter (story continues below).

The Stephen Akehurst designed dwelling contains five bedrooms.

Sotheby’s Peninsula’s Rob Curtain and Danielle Vains were the agents.

In 2018, the founder of online retailer Kogan paid $38.8m for a Toorak family home.

Mr Kogan also owned an apartment at Sunland’s distinctive Yve building, on St Kilda Road.

Three years ago, the businessman announced plans to enter the home loan market.

Also that year, Mr Akehurst sold his own Flinders home at 1573 Mornington-Flinders Rd for nearly $11m.
