Ex-Spotless chief lists landmark horse training facility
Former Healthscope and Spotless Group boss, property investor, Bruce Dixon, is selling Macedon Lodge after two years.
The executive can expect $30 million for the 121.2 hectare property, about 60 kilometres north west of Melbourne.
He paid $19.5m in April, 2022, settling three months later.
That seller, Lloyd Williams, undertook a major refurbishment of the esteemed private training facility, which he bought in 2007.
It was unsuccessfully offered for sale several times since 2014 including for two years when Mr Dixon bought it.
Macedon Lodge was created by the late Kurt Stern in the 1990s, opening 24 years ago.
Change of plan
Mr Dixon had intended to use Macedon Lodge commercially (story continues below).
At 79 Tucketts Road, Mount Macedon, it can accommodate 150 horses and another 80 for training, with 70 stables in three barns, 25 grass day yards, 20 spelling paddocks, two horse walkers (of 12 and eight capacity), equine spas, treadmills and stabling facilities.
There is also a 75 metre saltwater swimming pool and showering and solarium facility.
It has five flats, two semi-detached homes, a caretaker residence and proprietor house too.
Mr Dixon is offering it permitted to accommodate more horses.
Elders’ Nick Myer and Henry Mackinnon are the agents.
