Fitzroy church leased, set for repurpose

The church converted office is set to become a wedding venue.

The historic St Marks Church of England Hall in tree-lined George Street, Fitzroy, is set to be repurposed.

Operators of wedding venue Odette Fitzroy, as it will be known, leased the building, #270, after a campaign expected to attract office users or a boutique retailer, given a recent conversion.

Opened in 1891, the red brick building contains 359 square metres including a high-end kitchen and bathrooms.

It also has three phase power.

Gross Waddell ICR’s Raoul Salter was the agent.

The deal comes a week since we reported US-based apartment developers traded the suburb’s outgoing Streamline Press site, across Argyle, Johnston and Young streets, for $34.4m.

An 11 level build to rent investment with 200 dwellings is planned.
