Mt Macedon’s Nandi for sale

Ill health has stopped Brighton identities Keith Allan and Rex Lowe from building their dream home at Mount Macedon.

The well known antique dealers and subject in a book, The Boys of the Mount, purchased Nandi on 1.24 acres three years ago.

The pair later obtained permission to build a house (it already includes a historic large family residence).

Now the Mount Macedon Road property is for sale via Ray White Hampton’s Robert Bowman.

The guide is over $800,000.

Nandi was developed in 1876 by a Tasmanian saw miller.

It has also been held by artist Arnold Shaw.

Mr Allan and Mr Lowe have renovated and rebuilt Macedon region homes and gardens for more than 30 years; they restored the historic Tanglewood, also on the street.
