Maroochydore op shops sold, set for 18-level apartment towers

Rivianne was given the green light this week.

Cleighton Clark has bought two neighbouring Maroochydore op shops with plans for 18-level apartment complexes, 23 metres over the height limit.

The AAMI service centre-turned Neighbours Aid, and Salvos Stores, covering 3468 square metres zoned Principle Centre between 132-136 Aerodrome Road, at the corner of First Avenue, set the executive’s Habitat Development Group back $13.5 million in June.

This week, the Sunshine Coast Council approved the 63-metre project, with 180 dwellings and five ground floor commercial tenancies.

The plan replaces a 2023 scheme by a different owner for a 12-storey tower with 104 apartments.

Rivianne

Habitat has branded the Maroochydore project Rivianne.

Its other Sunshine Coast developments include Esperance, The Corso St Clair, Market Lane Residences and The Milwell (continues below).

Devcon in May applied to replace the ex-Sizzler on Aerodrome Road.

The proposal comes 13 months since realestatesource.com.au reported Devcon Property Group bought an ex-Sizzler at 41-43 Aerodrome Rd.

That 4178 sqm holding at the north-west corner of Fifth Avenue, also exposed Richards Street, cost $12m.

The developer has since lodged plans for a the first of a two-stage 13-storey development, containing a total 165 apartments and short stay units, ground floor retail and 286 car parks (artist’s impression, right).

Meanwhile late last year, RM Capital, the investment management arm of RM Developments, paid a Melbourne-based investor $7.775m for strata office suites within Maroochydore’s Plaza Links building.
