Commercial agency commits to Essendon Fields

Verifone rented 617 square metres at Essendon Fields’ Beaufort Building last year.

Colliers will relocate its North West office from Ravenhall to Essendon Fields.

The commercial agency has signed a five year lease for a ground floor space at 6 English Street.

“The move was necessary for us to support the significant expansion of our north-western operations,” the agency’s national industrial director, Nick Saunders, said.

“Being on the border of the western, northern and inner suburbs, [the location] will allow our…industrial team to service this rapidly growing market,” he added.

Essendon Airport turned 100 in August.

Its part-conversion to a commercial hub has been taking place since 2001, when Max Beck and Lindsay Fox signed a 99-year lease (story continues below).

Earlier this year we reported the landlords would build a seven-storey 7500 sqm office at 9 English St.

Last year, Serco sub-let a 6296 sqm commercial space at 15 Vaughan St from The Good Guys.

Essendon Fields also includes a shopping centre, car yard precinct and hotel; a major warehouse for Bombardier Transportation is under construction.

Abutting the Tullamarine Freeway to two sides, the property is 11 kilometres from the CBD.
