Apartment Buyers Looking South of the Yarra for Choice

The Armadale-based agent has been appointed by Jeanswest director and property developer Mark Stevens to stop the exodus of eastern suburb residents to suburbs in Stonnington, where more high-end, high-density living options are available.

Mr Stevens’ boutique development company Kokoda Property believes couples downsizing from large family homes in Hawthorn and Kew have been forced to leave Boroondara to find apartments with large liveable spaces and quality fixtures and fittings, because there are few options available in the east.

The most advanced Stonnington suburb in regard to luxury apartment development is South Yarra.

Kokoda Property’s development at 28 Manningtree Road, Hawthorn, includes a full-floor penthouse, which has sold, and six apartments, which are for sale at between $1.85 million and $2.5 million.
