Top honour goes to leading local agent

“The Woodrow Weight Award is the highest honour bestowed in the State’s real estate industry and it could not have been awarded to a more worthy recipient,” said REINSW President Cristine Castle presenting the award to Chris Fitzpatrick, a director of Fitzpatricks Real Estate, a business established by his father, Geoff, in 1950.

“Woodrow Weight OBE was a legend in the real estate industry who encouraged generations of agents and showed leadership in his lifelong dedication to the betterment of our industry,” Mrs Castle said. “Chris has shown over many years that he has the same traits.”

Chris joined REINSW in 1985 and became its Deputy President in 1999. When he was elected President in 2001, he was only the third country-based member to attain the position. He is now the NSW delegate to the Board of Directors of the real estate industry’s national body – the Real Estate Institute of Australia.

Chris’ community activities include previous positions as director of the Forrest Centre aged care facility, executive member of the OURA land care group and director of the Murrumbidgee Turf Club. He is also a former coach of the Kangaroo Panther junior rugby league club.
