Southern Cross Care sells inner city site
Southern Cross Care WA has sold an inner west Perth site previously permitted for a six storey aged care and retirement living complex.
The irregular shape holding, lots 28 and 31, 185 Salvado Road, Jolimont, will instead make way for traditional apartments after trading to a syndicate, Salvado Pty Ltd, for $9.13 million.
The not for profit paid $8.9m in 2018.
In two parts, the amalgamation contains 4755 square metres, one edge abutting Wembley Sports Park. The other is diagonally adjacent to Henderson Park.
Opposite another boundary, WBG Property is developing a seven level apartment complex, Jolie.
The sites form part of the Parkside Walk precinct – a joint venture between Development WA and the Town of Cambridge to revamp a block vacant since 1994 (continues below).
Development to come
Southern Cross planned 75 independent living apartments and 44 aged care units – a project with an end value circling $55m. It unsuccessfully offered the land for sale in early 2024.

Jolimont is about five kilometres from town.
