Screaming Jets drummer now a Cooley auctioneer

Vendors across the country can soon add a bit of rock-star glamour to their campaigns – with former The Screaming Jets drummer Craig Rosevear (pictured, top) picking up a contract with the high profile group Cooley Auctions.

Rosevear was offered the position with Damien Cooley’s firm this week, following a strong performance with the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales Novice Auctioneer Competition (NAC) earlier this year.

Cooley Auctions has also offered an auctioneer contract to the winner of the 2017 REINSW NAC, Michael Garofolo.

“I have always had a keen interest in real estate and so becoming an auctioneer is a chance for my passion and business goals to meet up,” Rosevear said earlier this year while competing in the 10-heat NAC event.

Rosevear, a member of The Screaming Jets between 1992 and 2001, has in recent years directed Rosie’s School of Rock (Rosie being his nickname).

“I have been in the music industry my whole life and the parallels between the marketing campaigns in both industries are so similar,” he said. “This has kept me gravitating towards a career in real estate and becoming a full-time auctioneer is my goal”.

That goal is now met, with the REINSW also acknowledging Rosevear’s ability to excel in high pressure situations, developed as a result of years touring as a musician, contributed to him winning the NAC award.

“The Cooley auctioneers are regarded as the best in the business and to be selected for the team is a great recognition of my skills,” Rosevear said in a REINSW statement this week. “I’m really looking forward to being mentored by the best”.

“Being able to work closely with very talented and inspiring people is something I’ve been fortunate enough to do at the top of the Australian music industry,” Rosevear said. “Now I get to do the same as an auctioneer”.

Cooley Auctions works on residential and commercial campaigns across the country.
