Mirvac Building Wall That Will Block Waverley Park Eyesore From Melburnians

Mirvac said the new wall will be textured, and aims to capture the essence of the former oval and famous car park, which was renowned for flooding.

However its wall might not replace the visual impact of the imposing Sir Kenneth Luke grandstand, which is heritage listed and must remain, despite now looking out of place being surrounded by townhouses.

Mirvac paid the AFL $110 million for the 80-hectare Mulgrave stadium (pictured, above) ten years ago. Because the Waverley Park project is nearing completion, the developer recently bought other “infill” residential development sites in Wantirna South (the former Austral Bricks site) and Doncaster (the Eastern Golf Course).
