JB Hi Fi signs office lease deal in Melbourne’s Southgate

JB Hi Fi is moving its office operations to Melbourne’s Southbank.

The listed home entertainment retailer has leased 9500 square metres of A-grade space at the Southgate complex, which is owned by listed Singapore group ARA Asset Management.

The deal comes two years after JB Hi Fi acquired rival The Good Guys.

JB Hi Fi, established by John Barbuto (JB) in East Keilor’s Centreway in 1974, is currently headquartered at Chadstone.

Knight Frank and CBRE negotiated the lease, according to the AFR which reported the deal today. Charter Keck Cramer acted for JB Hi Fi.

The 76,600 sqm Southgate complex includes two A-grade office buildings, HWT Tower and IBM Centre, a three-level retail plaza and basement car park.
