Elsewhere in Northcote, a 10-level apartment complex, Acacia on the Park, is under construction near the All Nations Park and Northcote Plaza shopping centre.

Planning Minister Justin Madden recently called in a major redevelopment of the former Northcote Bowl complex where a complex of almost 100 units is proposed.

Northcote’s former Bingo Centre on High Street, and the Thornbury site occupied until recently by Northcote Pottery are also being redeveloped into higher density projects.

Recently, Melbourne based builder Little Project Developments announced plans for a $100 million redevelopment of Brunswick East’s former Tip Top Bakery site, which would include 392 flats across six buildings, including one tower rising around 10 levels.
