Former AFL star’s Melbourne hotel sold
A suburban Melbourne hospitality venue linked to ex-Richmond footballer Kayne Pettifer has sold to an occupier.
The former Bungalow Beer Garden at 123-127 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood, is speculated to have traded for c$3.3 million after a receivers’ campaign.
The three-level, 1525 square metre property was developed after the Dakota nightclub was destroyed by fire in 2016.
It retains elements of the former Dakota nightclub fit-out.
The balance comprises a large restaurant and beer garden.
The site spans 634 sqm zoned Activity Centre with off street parking.
It is opposite the Rydges Ringwood which realestatesource.com.au reported in 2024, the Brady family’s Amber Property Group sold to Serene Capital.
At the time that property was trading as a Sebel.

Operator buys in
The recently closed Bungalow Beer Garden was owned by a consortium including Mr Pettifer.
Eastland Shopping Centre and the suburb’s train station are a short walk.

“Ringwood serves as a vital gateway between inner Melbourne and the Yarra Valley, receiving millions of passing vehicles and visitors annually,” he added.
“The successful hospitality operator is poised to inject fresh energy into the Ringwood food & dining precinct,” according to the executive.
Ringwood is about 20 kilometres east of the CBD.
