Dandenong Family Court sold

The Dandenong Family Court has finally sold – for $12 million.

The three storey property at 53-55 Robinson Street hit the market in 2018 and 2019.

Following another campaign launched last October, a buyer was found.

CBRE’s Scott Orchard, Scott Hawthorne and Jimmy Tat with Gross Waddell ICR’s Alex Ham and Michael Gross brokered the deal – from one private investor to another.

The vendor paid $6.6m in 2012.

The federal government pays annual rent of $782,413 on a lease expiring in two years (story continues below).

On a 2371 sqm block zoned Comprehensive Development, the Dandenong property was marketed for its development upside; it could make way for a structure of over seven storeys.

The 2729 sqm building, with 50 car parks, could also be retained as an investment.

The address has operated as the court since 1983.

Last September, Marprop paid $35.3m for the Newcastle Family Court and adjoining office, rented to, amongst other groups, Legal Aid and Braye Cragg Solicitors.
