Childcare operators pre-commit to centres in Berwick, Tarneit

Two childcare centre lease deals have been signed in major Melbourne growth corridors each side of the city.

In Berwick, Oxanda Education has pre-committed to a 110-place complex within the town centre of Moremac’s Alira housing estate.

It would be the operator’s 15th business.

The 15 year lease was negotiated by Burgess Rawson’s Sam Fogarty.

The Berwick site, more than 50 kilometres south east of town, is considered to be in one of Australia’s fastest growing municipalities (the City of Casey), expected to accommodate more than 500,000 residents within 20 years, the executive said.

Meanwhile, west of town, a private operator has rented its second Tarneit childcare centre, with 128 places (story continues below).

“To secure a second property…shows the strength of the market,” Mr Fogarty added.

“The City of Wyndham [council] experienced the largest and fastest population growth in Victoria the past two years.

“Consequently, childcare services are in demand”,

The lease for the Tarneit property (artist’s impression, top) is also for an initial 15 years.
