Ex-NRL player leases sprawling Melbourne property for new venture

Subaru Interactive occupied the site (shaded) between 2002-2023.

A new luxury car dealership launched earlier this year by Maas Group founder Wes Maas, an ex South Sydney player, and Hass Fahd – who recently quit Duttons – has leased Docklands’ ex-Subaru Interactive.

The proposal for 99-109 Lorimer Street, Docklands.

Owned since 2021 by developer Pelligra, the 1.78 hectare property, 99-109 Lorimer Street, with a two level showroom, service centre and hardstand, is now occupied by Cavalo Prestige following a speculated $2 million per annum deal.

Inchcape controlled Subaru quit the facility in 2023 after 21 years.

Pelligra with Citinova last year lodged plans to replace it with a residential-based mixed-use project.

Fast growing non-bank lender and alternative asset manager Metrics is now involved – replacing luxury car dealer Nick Theodossi as backer (story continues below).

The lease comes seven months since we reported another NRL identity and motor group investor, Sydney Roosters chairman, Nick Politis, bought two Melbourne Porsche backed assets for a total $47m.

In 2019 meanwhile that executive outlaid over $11m for a Hawthorn East showroom investment.
