Buxton Commercial is born

Kenny Oliver will head Buxton Commercial after eight years with Hocking Stuart Commercial.

Victorian real estate group Buxton is getting into the commercial agency game.

Buxton Commercial will be led by Kenny Oliver, who in June quit Hocking Stuart Commercial after eight years.

The company announcement comes three months after we reported that Buxton rebranded the Beller residential agency in Chapel Street, Windsor – its 24th metropolitan Melbourne agency.

Buxton also rebranded Beller’s project marketing division at the time. This business is now known as Projects by Buxton.

With the establishment of Buxton Commercial, Mr Oliver said the company has “round out its property ecosystem”.

“Buxton is not just living off its well-earned reputation, it continues to invest heavily in a culture which is underpinned by people, training, marketing and technology,” Mr Oliver said. “The customer-centric nature of Buxton is designed to benefit our clients in achieving their property goals”.

The former London-based agent has conducted more than 500 commercial auctions globally.

Buxton chief executive officer Nathan Jones said the new commercial division would cover sales, leasing and asset management whilst leveraging the existing footprint of the residential offices to strengthen that synergy.

“We are a business that grows with people and for us, a dedicated commercial offering was a missing piece in our overall strategy. When the opportunity arose to develop this business and brand around Kenny, it was one we simply couldn’t pass up.

Mr Oliver will conduct his first auction as Buxton Commercial’s managing director next month.

Buxton just Melbourne’s latest commercial real estate agency

News of Buxton Commercial comes a month after we reported that former CBRE and Colliers International executive Andrew Tracey established a new property advisory firm, Actum.

Aston Commercial was also created, on July 1 – as we reported here. Aston Commercial replaced the agency known as Beller Commercial, which ceased once Buxton renamed Beller’s Windsor office and project marketing division.

Other Melbourne commercial estate agencies launched this year include Quinn Reynolds – led by former JLL directors Marcus Quinn and Lincoln Reynolds.

Jones Real Estate, directed by by Paul Jones, a former Colliers International, Melcorp Commercial and Savills executive, was also established in 2019.

In June, we reported that Colliers International acquired Nic Cuni’s EST8 Agency residential and project marketing business.
