Batesford, Beveridge housing sites find buyers

The Batesford property is understood to be selling for $32 million.

A couple of major residential land deals have been sealed this month.

In Batesford, near Geelong, a 32.43 hectare site covering 305 and 375 Ballarat Road is collecting $32 million, according to sources.

The property was marketed for its potential to yield about 500 lots; it is affected by the Creamery Road Precinct Structure Plan.

The buyer is understood to be Melbourne based but this couldn’t be confirmed with Biggin & Scott’s Callum Williamson and Andrew Egan.

Batesford is about 10 kilometres north west of Geelong.

Meanwhile in Beveridge, about 42 km north of Melbourne, the Looker family has sold a 434ha parcel held since 1966 (story continues below).

The Merri Park cattle station at 1545 Merriang Rd and 300 Donovons Lane was visited by Prince Phillip in 1968.

Nearly half the Beveridge property is zoned for commercial use.

It carried a c$100m guide when listed last October.

Fitzroys said the local Scerri family via its JMS Hospitality, with Chinese developer Sino Integrity, are the buyers.

Nearly 200 hectares is zoned for commercial use.

Qube is planning an intermodal facility in the suburb.
