Apartment Skyscraper to Replace Low Rise Office at the Top of Melbourne CBD

Upon completion the new building, to be known as Backyard, will sit between the distinctive Melbourne Central office and the ritzy Republic Tower apartment complex, which rises 36 levels. 

With the height of the building now sorted, a Melbourne City Council representative said its planners are now waiting on the La Trobe Street applicant to submit details about how many flats it will try to fit within the walls of the approved shell.
