VCAT Cans Plans to Make Melbourne’s Tallest Suburban Tower Even Taller

In a show of how fast government and developer attitudes have moved in regard to planning, this Fun Factory site was in the news just a few years ago, when an “ambitious” 27 level tower was proposed.

The owners of the Fun Factory site, a consortium including Sydney-based Freedom Furniture founders Julian Tertini and Peter Palan, and the APN Property Group have reiterated to Capital Gain it has no plans to onsell the site, prior to development.

It tried through VCAT to increase the height of the main building to 43-levels, or 151 metres.

Apartments within the proposed project have been marketed since last year and construction is due to start in shortly – as it has been for a while, now.
