Godfreys buys HQ from landlord
Godfreys Commercial – acquired last year with Godfreys by Future Innovation Holdings – has purchased its west Melbourne headquarters from the landlord.
The distributor of cleaning products including vacuum cleaners is paying $2.3 million for 2 Drake Boulevard, Altona.
The 625 square metre space forms part of a showroom/office complex with five other tenancies at the south west corner of Kororoit Creek Road.
“The vendor took advantage of strong demand and pricing within the owner-occupier market,” Lemon Baxter’s James Matina, who brokered the off-market deal with Ned Kukic, said.
The result prices the lettable area at $3680 per square metre, he added.
Altona is 13 kilometres south west of Melbourne’s CBD.
Godfreys went into voluntary administration early last year closing all its stores in May.
The brand and Godfreys Commercial, acquired in June by FIH, is now an online business with a wholesale model.
