Tasmania’s first billionaire snatches another Melbourne site

A business directed by Pratt family members recently leased a Keysborough warehouse.

A company owned by Elpinston Group, co-directed by Dale Elphinston, who in 2019 became Tasmania’s first billionaire, has leased a Melbourne office/warehouse for an expanding business.

The half hectare (c5060 square metre) Hallam property is setting the group back starting annual rent of $336,000 ex-GST and outgoings.

Buildings occupy about 28 per cent of the block. At 24 Rimfire Drive, there is also a 2200 sqm yard.

Subsidiary United Equipment, which manufactures and distributes products for the surface and underground mining industries, will occupy.

United expands east

The Hallam property will service United Equipment clients in Melbourne’s inner, middle and outer east (story continues below).

It will retain a western suburb operation at Sunshine West.

Knight Frank’s Adam Athorne and Josh Burne brokered the off-market deal.

Hallam is about 34 kilometres south east of Melbourne’s CBD.
