Bunnings Pays Watpac $20.6 Million For Newstead Site, Brisbane

HARDWARE giant Bunnings has paid $20.6 million for two hectares of land in the Brisbane suburb of Newstead. Queensland Based Watpac Wins $40 Million in Contracts

Watpac’s Civil & Mining division has successfully bid for $40 million worth of projects in recent months around the country.

Yesterday in Queensland the division was awarded a $30 million contract on the Flinders Street Redevelopment in Townsville.

This major project for the Townsville City Council will see the existing pedestrian mall converted into a roadway and footpaths, reopening the space to vehicular traffic.

MELBOURNE’s next unique office – which will in this case be configured as a laboratory and classrooms – starts construction in Bundoora this month.

La Trobe University’s $93 million La Trobe Institute of Molecular Science (LIMS) project will rise six levels from Science Road, at its Bundoora campus, about 17 kilometres north of town.

The biotechnology and nanotechnology education facility is due for completion late next year.
