Roche Group snaps up regional pub

Roche Group has added to its regional NSW pub portfolio – with Armidale’s Royal Hotel.

The off-market deal for 107 Beardy Street, on the north east corner of Marsh, is worth over $5 million.

The venue includes a bar, bistro, gaming room and accommodation.

HTL Property’s Xavier Plunkett was the agent.

The sale comes two days since Jim Knox paid $13.25m for Armidale’s Whitebull Hotel.

Earlier this month we reported three regional NSW pub sales – Murwillumbah’s Court House Hotel, Harrington Hotel and the Railway Hotel at Parkes (story continues below).

Roche grows regional portfolio

Roche holds hospitality assets in the Hunter Valley and Mid North Coast and farming property in New England.

The investor will retain staff at Armidale.

“There are no immediate plans for major changes to the business, however we will look to improve the overall hotel offering with a more food and beverage focused operation and some management synergies and operational experience,” group executive chairman, Dominic Roche, said.
