QLS expands in south east Melbourne
QLS Logistics has expanded its operation in Melbourne’s south east as part of a lease renewal.
The logistics giant has re-committed to Warehouse A at 170-172 Atlantic Drive, Keysborough, a 17,878 square metre office/warehouse with 53 car parks, it has occupied since it was completed in December, 2012.
Now, it has rented 3350 sqm of the neighbouring warehouse – 17 Pacific Drive – which shares the same roofline.
The entire building contains 30,004 sqm, part of Frasers Property Industrial’s The Key Industrial Estate.
Colliers’ industrial and logistics advisory represented QLS Logistics.
Gordon Code and David Follacchio were the agents.
Frasers locks in QLS
QLS delivers brown and white goods.
The Keysborough facility is for its recycling business, Ecycle Solutions, which collects associated goods waste and reuses materials for everyday household products like picture frames, decking, skirting boards and synthetic timber (continues below).
Frasers will fund works to create direct access between the two warehouses, allowing the property to operate as a single distribution hub.
“Suitable expansion opportunities remain tightly held,” Mr Code said.
“Leveraging our understanding of the local market, we were able to identify an opportunity for QLS Logistics to secure additional capacity immediately adjacent to its existing facility, supporting its growth without the need to relocate,” according to the executive.
Lease renewals with expansions are becoming important for occupiers seeking to maintain operational continuity, Mr Follaccio added.
“Through a comprehensive occupier representation process, we worked closely with QLS Logistics to understand its long-term requirements, negotiate the optimal outcome and secure additional space that supports future growth while minimizing disruption to its operations,” he said.
This part of Keysborough is about 32 kilometres from the CBD.
