Pask Group wins approval for East Melbourne apartment project

The proposed apartment building will rise 10 levels.

Pask Group has won permission to replace the airspace behind East Melbourne’s c1873 College House, opposite Fitzroy Gardens, with a 10-level apartment complex .

In April, Epworth Hospital unveiled plans for a 12-level building at 166 Clarendon Street.

The Queensland developer paid the Royal Australian and New Zealand college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists $22 million for the site, 250-260 Albert Street, in January, 2020.

An application lodged with the City of Melbourne 10 months ago was approved last week after some amendments.

Thirty nine objections were received for the complex which will contain 23 dwellings – a mix of two, three and four bedrooms.

The 1533 square metre Commercial 1 zoned property is next to the 14-level luxury apartment complex, The Eastbourne, recently completed by Mirvac and Freemasons Victoria.

Pask owns another property in the area – 204-206 Albert St – where it is proposing a strata office investment (story continues below).

Orchard Piper recently won permission to construct a nine level apartment building on a 1200 sqm amalgamation covering 364-370 Albert St.

Sydney based Luxcon is also marketing a residential project, The Address, next to that (372-380 Albert St).
