Goodman seals two inner-city industrial lease deals

The Burrows Road facility is one of Australia’s first multi-level warehouses.

Goodman has secured tenants for two warehouses in Sydney’s inner south Alexandria.

In the biggest deal, CH Robinson will open its first dedicated warehouse after leasing 3081 square metres within a multi-level facility at 45 Burrows Road, at the Axis Alexandria estate.

To date, the company has used third party logistics providers for its local freight forwarding.

The initial lease term is three years.

“Axis Alexandria’s desirable location…adjacent to the WestConnex St Peters Interchange, provides CHR wth seamless access to Sydney’s motorway network,” Cushman & Wakefield’s Tim Cassidy, who brokered the deal, said.

Meanwhile at Goodman’s Sydney Corporate Park at 190 Bourke Rd, Alexandria (pictured, top), an as yet undisclosed tenant has leased adjoining warehouses – 6 and 7 – a 1655 sqm amalgamation, also for three years (story continues below).

The former tenant quit in November.

There was minimal market incentive, according to Cushman & Wakefield’s Jake Savery, who negotiated this lease.

“These transactions reflect the high demand for industrial assets in south Sydney and Goodman’s ability to deliver premium facilities that attract global and innovative companies,” he added.

Alexandria is about four kilometres from Sydney’s CBD.
