Park Orchards Chalet Earmarked to Become Aged Care Facility

In recent years, the Park Orchards Chalet operated as a restaurant and function centre, but it closed and was sold to aged care developers in 2007.The site is reported to be for sale again, and locals are trying to save the approximate $1.5 million required to buy it, and convert the estate into a community hub.

The site would be worth more to developers with a permit to build a nursing home.

Contour Consultants director Marco Negri, who is managing the aged care planning application for owner Park Orchards Aged Services Property Pty Ltd, declined to comment while the application is being reviewed. It’s expected council will make a decision about the proposal within months.
