Manly backpacker sold, set for refurb
The Manly Boardrider backpacker complex has sold as a freehold going concern and will now be refurbished.
Able to sleep 120 in 28 rooms configured as a mix of dorms, the four level building at 63-67 The Corso, collected $12.5 million.
Also with ground floor retail – alone contributing $1.25m to the annual income – the lettable area is 1158 square square metres.
There is also a rooftop terrace with water views.
The site spreads 490 square metres zoned E1 Local Centre and was offered permit-ready for a repurpose as 12 apartments over ground floor retail.
The Skerrett family’s Invergowrie Property was the seller, fitting the building out as accommodation in 2001.
The property once housed Crazy Prices Woolworths.
Colliers Tom Appleby, Karen Wakes, Eugene White and Jackie Su brokered the sale.
The incoming owner will refurbish the building which was set to be vacant next year, retaining staff.
