Lleyton and Bec Hewitt list Melbourne family home

The dwelling covers a 696 square metre site.

Tennis player turned commentator Lleyton Hewitt and his wife, former actress, Bec, are selling their Toorak family home after five years.

The pair can expect between $15-$16 million for 34 Heyington Place, opposite St Catherine’s.

The property was acquired while it was under construction for $12.7m.

That vendor, Royale Constructions’ Peter Johnston, paid $3.81m for the 696 sqm site in 2015; the block previously accommodated an unrenovated single level home.

A single storey dwelling was razed to make way for the new home in 2016.

Penned by Christopher Doyle, the Hewitt’s double storey dwelling contains five bedrooms, each with an ensuite, seven bathrooms and a study.

A basement includes six car parks, a 12-seat theatre, wine cellar capable of holding 1800 bottles and a gym (story continues below).

The block contains a heated pool and entertainment area.

Jellis Craig’s Phillip French and Nathan Waterson are representing the Hewitts, who were recently reported inspecting a $15m replacement family home in Sydney’s Manly.

Four years ago, Mr Hewitt sold a penthouse at St Kilda Road’s Yve complex for c$8.175m – a loss on than the ($8.325m) price he paid off-the-plan in 2004.

Not long earlier the couple banked nearly $5m from a two hectare Kenthurst, Sydney dwelling.

Earlier this month we reported ex-AFL player Shane Crawford offloaded his renovated Brighton home, Ellesmere, for a speculated $9m, after relocating to Byron Bay.
