Jockey Michael Barlow sells Glen Iris home

Champion jockey Michael Barlow is trotting out of Glen Iris.

The recently retired sportsman, who rode more horses to victory than any other Victorian rider in 1996 and 1997, is selling his four bedroom townhouse at 1/284 Warrigal Road, for a bigger home in the area.

Despite the busy sounding street address, the property is accessed via a side road used by members of the Burwood Bowling and Burwood Tennis Clubs nearby.

Opposite Burwood Reserve, it has CBD views over parkland and is a short stroll to Toorak Road shops and the Burwood train station.

The dwelling includes a large open plan lounge and dining room with fireplace, kitchen with separate meals area, timber decked alfresco area with cabana and a heated salted inground pool.

Carmichael & Weber property consultant Robert Litinetsky is marketing the “house-sized” unit privately.

It is expected to fetch more than $600,000.
