Barings locks footwear giant to spec warehouse

Barings has now filled a Truganina warehouse it built speculatively.

Barings has secured footwear giant Accent Group to part of a distribution centre built speculatively in Melbourne.

The tenant, behind brands including Dr Martens, Platypus, The Athlete’s Foot and UGG, will take up 17,233 square metres at 13 Evolution Road, Truganina.

It will join Provincial Home Living which pre-committed to the balance 22,320 sqm of the building in mid-2023.

CBRE’s Harry Kalaitzis brokered both deals.

“Interestingly, year to date, there have been five [leasing] transactions above 15,000 sqm representing 19 per cent of the deals completed above 4000 sqm,” he said.

“This tenant continued the emerging ‘flight to quality’ trend as market vacancy increases,” he added.

Rents are undisclosed but understood to circle $105-$125 per sqm net.

Truganina is about 23 kilometres west of town.
