JG King to shift HQ within Port Melbourne
EXCLUSIVE
JG King Homes will shift its headquarters within Port Melbourne, choosing one ex-GM Holden base for another.
The builder has leased 1524 square metres at 191 Salmon Street, an A-grade, campus style office built free for the car maker on its land in 2005 by Mirvac which retained it as an investment.
Nowadays the owner is Arrow Capital Partners.
It is represented by Actum Property’s Andrew Tracey.
ResolveXO’s Malcolm Hunter acted for JG King Homes which has for more than a decade been headquartered at 261 Salmon St, at the southwest corner of Lorimer, opposite the Yarra River.
That property was built in the 1930s and was the GM Holden base until moving to #191.
This pocket of Port Melbourne, within the employment precinct of the Fishermans Bend urban renewal zone, is five kilometres south west of Melbourne’s CBD (continues below).
JG King upgrades

The historic ex-GM Holden HQ at 261 Lorimer St is owned by Barings which via Altis Property Partners paid $28.25m to ISPT in April, 2014.
JG King’s new address will also contain a showroom.
“JG King Homes is a leading home builder helping Victorians create the homes of their dreams,” an Arrow representative said.
“Relocating from a neighbouring Port Melbourne office, JG King was seeking a higher quality workspace that better supports their people and reflects their brand,” they added.
“191 Salmon St delivered the scale, flexibility, and amenity to make that next chapter possible,” according to the spokesperson.
