Gurner plots apartments, Club Maison at Prahran

The Prahran proposal includes own-your-own apartments and a Club Maison hotel.

Gurner has partnered with a Prahran property owner to deliver a residential complex and Club Maison boutique hotel.

The eight level project, earmarked for 145-151 High Street, would incorporate a c1891 Gothic Revival church and Sunday school.

A Club Maison earmarked for 99-105 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda.

It would contain 45 units – a mix of guest suites and own-your-own apartments.

In December, Gurner announced plans to replace St Kilda’s ex-Cushion Lounge as the country’s maiden Club Maison.

Two months ago the builder teamed with the owner of Richmond’s 1.3 hectare Harry the Hirer site, with plans for a mixed-use village including a shopping centre, aged care facility and 500 private dwellings in five buildings between seven-12 floors.

Earlier this year the development company in partnership with Qualitas spent a speculated $75 million for a 50 per cent interest in South Yarra’s Jam Factory entertainment complex.

That 1.93 hectare block – not far from 145-151 High St – was also acquired as a development play, possibly incorporating a Club Maison (story continues below).

The proposed St Kilda hotel will contain two activated rooftops.

The Prahran project is estimated to have an end value of $40m.

It will contain ground floor restaurant, an upper-level office and landscaped rooftop with a bar, dining spaces, kitchen and infinity edge pool.

“Being so close to Prahran’s vibrant Chapel St precinct and amenity like Fawkner Park, St Kilda Road and the CBD, this site is deal for both a residential component and our new Club Maison accommodation concept,” Gurner general manager of Boutique, Brooke Formosa, said.

The company is expected to have between 10-15 Club Maisons in the pipeline by 2023.
