Greencor spends $26m in Wollert

Local developer Greencor is paying $26 million for a 57 hectare farm on Bodycoats Road in Wollert.

Marketed as ”the last big one”, with the potential to be subdivided into about 900 lots, the property adjoins holdings recently acquired by Stockland, the state government’s development arm, Places Victoria, and Evolve Development, part directed by Melbourne millionaire and former Fairfax Media chairman Ron Walker.

The northern Epping corridor, as it is known, has seen rampant residential activity in recent years driven by first and second-time home buyers.

Selling agent Andrew Egan of Biggin and Scott Land declined to comment on the Bodycoats Road deal.

In late 2010, Stockland paid $300m for the 1121ha Lockerbie sheep station in Kalkallo, the next suburb north of Wollert.
