Goodyear pre-commits to Brisbane warehouse

The proposed Total Tyres warehouse.

Frasers Property Industrial has secured Goodyear, an existing tenant client, as the first pre-commitment at its Vantage Yatala estate, in Brisbane’s south east.

Goodyear has committed to the Yatala warehouse for seven years.

The Ohio based rubber giant has signed up for a 25,250 square metre facility for an initial seven years.

It will be used by the group’s Total Tyres business.

Just 250 sqm – a per cent – of the property will be configured with offices.

A loading section of the warehouse will also feature a 36 metre super awning.

The property is also designed with solar panels and a rainwater capture and reuse system.

CBRE’s Chris Cash was the agent.

The deal comes a week since FPI outlaid a speculated $150 million for a 70ha-plus industrial development site at Kemps Creek, in Sydney’s west (story continues below).

Frasers Property Industrial recently purchased a Kemps Creek industrial site (outlined).

Site earmarked for 650,000 sqm

FPI paid c$38.5m for the 65ha Yatala block in 2019; that vendor, Kevin Seymour, paid the Hester family just $20m a few months earlier.

The Vantage estate is anticipated to accommodate more than 650,000 sqm.

“Goodyear has been a longstanding customer of Frasers Property Industrial for more than 18 years,” the landlord’s general manager, Queensland, Troy Whelan, said.

In Melbourne, the group rents a 24,100 sqm distribution at Truganina’s West Park.
