Former Tattersalls Executive Buys in Berry Street East Melbourne

The home will be built on the site of the former Berry Street Victoria charity, which was sold to developer Becton Property Group in January. Berry Street Victoria moved to a new building in Salisbury Street Richmond, paving the way for Becton to redevelop the site into 8 luxury townhouses.

Mr Gillooly will relocate from his current home, also in Berry Street.

“We love where we live. It’s really one of East Melbourne’s best kept secrets,” said Mr Gillooly. “We are in our early 60s and wanted a home we could realistically live in for the rest of our lives.”

Across the river, the 6-bedroom Brighton home of former Tabcorp chief executive Matthew Slatter is said to be attracting strong interest since coming to the market last month. The Glyndon Road home is expected to sell for more than $8 million. Mr Slatter is reported to be looking for something smaller.
