Former MasterChef judge, Gary Mehigan, is selling his renovated Victorian in Malvern East’s leafy Gascoigne Estate.

The four bedroom plus study home with indoor and outdoor kitchens, on a 1070 square metre block opposite Central Park, is being quoted at $5.9-$6.49 million.

The cook with his wife Mandy paid $3.3m in 2012.

Marshall White, which marketed it then, has the listing again; Joanna Nairn and Maria Vovos are the agents.

The c1886 residence, one of the first constructed in the picturesque estate, featured in a 2015 Australia Lives Here promotion by REA Group (story continues below).

The Malvern East home sits on a 1070 square metre block with a pool and outdoor kitchen.

Earlier this year Mr Mehigan called paramedics to the street after witnessing a school bus smash into a row of trees near Burke Rd (the driver was initially suspected to have had a heart attack).

Last July, Channel 10 let go of Mr Mehigan and the two other original MasterChef judges – the network saying it wasn’t able to reach a commercial agreement that was satisfactory to them.

One of those colleagues – George Calombaris – has been selling down residential property recently, in Toorak and Safety Beach, but this is part linked to events surrounding his hospitality business, Made Establishment, entering administration in February.

Receivers have also sold businesses and re-let Melbourne properties associated with that enterprise.

The Central Park Road home has been renovated.
The kitchen, which opens to an alfresco area, overlooks the pool.
The study could be converted into a fifth bedroom. The dwelling also contains formal and informal living and dining rooms.
