Developer buys mansion dubbed Brighton Town Hall

Lowe Living has swooped on the imposing mansion dubbed Brighton Town Hall.

The 3200 square metre holding at 2 Kinane Street, at the south east corner of The Esplanade, is speculated to be costing $25 million.

Vendor, Goldman Sachs executive, Nick Sims, and his wife, Georgina, outlaid $16.5m in early 2020.

That deal was following a campaign also targeted to medium density developers – like Lowe.

Max Beck constructed the imposing home in 1988.

It and neighbouring 2A Kinane St – on 1744 sqm – were both on the market.

2A Kinane St had a $13-$14.3m guide.

Lowe Living was formed by Tim Lowe.

The company has since early this year also controlled the ex-Brighton Savoy hotel site in the suburb.

Buxton’s Victoria Gregory and Stefan Whiting with Forbes’ Robert Fletcher and Tracey Belcher represented the Sims.
