Buffalo Sports to Move to Brunswick Superstore

Sources say sporting retail giant Buffalo Sports is planning to consolidate several inner-northern suburb warehouses and retailers to a huge 9500 sq m supersite at 314-320 Albert Street, behind the Sydney Road shopping strip and Brunswick railway station.

The Australian Country Spin-ners factory had warehouse conversion written all over it when it was put to the market earlier this year, but developers were outmuscled by the owner-occupier, which is paying around $7 million for the site, sources say.

Gross Waddell director Joseph Carbone and Vinci Partners director Frank Vinci sold the Brunswick property on behalf of a private investor, but declined to comment on any part of the deal when contacted by Capi-tal Gain. A spokesman for Buffalo Sports declined to comment on speculated plans for the site.

The retailer’s head office in Union Street, on the market through CBRE, is expected to sell for about $3.5 million.
