Ashe Morgan Winthrop Announces Senior Appointments

David Challinor has recently joined Ashe Morgan Winthrop in the position of Chief Operating Officer.

Mr Challinor brings more than 17 years experience to Ashe Morgan Winthrop and holds an outstanding track record in senior leadership positions with financial services organisations.  Most recently, Mr Challinor was Chief Financial Officer in the Corporate and Business Division, at HBOS and has also held senior management positions with AMP Bank, AM Corporation and BNP Paribas.

Mr Challinor’s reputation for excellence precedes him and is set to bring superior management skills and finance knowledge to Ashe Morgan Winthrop.

He will be responsible for the overall management and performance across all of Ashe Morgan Winthrop’s businesses and will lead the finance, marketing, HR, IT and the newly established risk management and compliance functions.

Also recently appointed to the position of Chief Investment and Strategy Officer is Justin Richmond.

With a strong background in investment banking, Mr Richmond brings more than14 years experience to Ashe Morgan Winthrop.  His most recent position was Director with the Institutional Property Group at Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ). 

In his previous roles, Mr Richmond has advised on some of Australia’s largest and most complex investment banking transactions including this year undertaking the initial public offering of Hedley Leisure and Gaming Property Fund (Total Assets of $1.17 billion). His transactional experience in mergers and acquisitions, equity capital raising, debt finance and financial engineering ensure Mr Richmond is well placed to lead Ashe Morgan Winthrop’s investment operations.

Mr Richmond will be responsible for the overall strategy across all of Ashe Morgan Winthrop’s businesses and lead Ashe Morgan Winthrop’s Mergers and Acquisitions. He will also provide key support to Managing Director, Michael Rothner, in specific areas of funding and strategy.

Mr Rothner said both appointments provided the ideal platform as the company enters a new era of strategic growth across property investment, finance and development. 

“David is extremely well regarded throughout the financial services industry and I am confident he will be a wonderful asset for our business as it continues to grow and succeed.

He said the appointment of Justin Richmond would further ground Ashe Morgan Winthrop as a key player in the Australian property finance and development industry.
