Apartment developer buys South Brisbane site

The Sherpa proposal (centre).

Sherpa Group has paid $14.9 million for a South Brisbane site.

The Gold Coast based developer has already lodged plans to replace a low office at 21-23 Cordelia Street with a 27 level apartment building.

It has also branded the tower Symphony, as part of an off-the-plan marketing campaign kicked off last quarter.

The end value has been put at c$240m.

Gard Property’s Michael Gard, Andrew Gard, Simon Strohfeldt and Harry Lipke were the agents.

Flourish brand

The South Brisbane sites are between the Jolly & Butcher factory and former Catholic Apostolic Church – both heritage protected.

Part of Sherpa’s Flourish brad, Symphony will contain 138 apartments – the cheapest starting at $695,000.

The bulk (113) are priced over $1m.

The design also includes 1400 sqm of resort style amenity with a wellness centre, steam room, sauna, hot and cold plunge pools, heated pool, deck with cabana, outdoor dining space with a BBQ, private indoor dining room, gym and yoga room.

Vertical gardens will cover a four storey podium.

There is also parking in a two level basement.
