Amart founder sells Sunshine Coast estate for record price
Billionaire businessman John Van Lieshout and his wife Linda have sold a sprawling Sunshine Coast hinterland estate for over $12 million – smashing the suburb record by $5m.

Mountain View Manor spreading 65 hectares at Maleny, settled to a local family after being listed late last year.
The Amart Furniture founder and his wife, with a net worth speculated to circle $2.6 billion, paid $2.5m in 2004, retaining part with cattle.
They were represented for the sale by Ray White Maleny’s Allister Millica and Justin Smith.
Mountain View Manor
Behind wrought iron electric gates, passing established gardens and a dam, the hilltop Mountain View Manor took three years to build.
With nine bedrooms (including in an apartment attached to the dwelling, and a caretaker’s cottage away from the home, both self-contained), the single level residence is also designed with a billiards room and sunroom – all up, 624 square metres.
Two double carports and a four car garage contain another 164 sqm (story continues below).

The outdoor area, including a wraparound balcony and internal courtyard with a pool, covers 543 sqm.
With Glass House Mountains views, the Mountain View Road estate includes a tennis court and pavilion and pool too.
Away from the home there are cattle yards and dams.
Maleny is about an hour drive to Noosa and twice that to Brisbane Airport.
It is about a half hour drive to the beach and Sunshine Coast Airport.
The deal comes six months since Mr Van Lieshout, via his company, Unison Projects, acquired an Ipswich retail investment on 1.4ha for $10.25m. He also holds Gold Coast residential development sites and a string of bulky goods outlets in Brisbane’s McGregor.
