Alanis Morissette lists Brentwood mansion of 21 years for $A7 million

Alanis Morissette’s outgoing Brentwood house

Singer Alanis Morissette is selling her Los Angeles home of 21 years.

The property, with a c1951 Mediterranean style mansion, is asking $USD5.495 million (or just under $A7 million) according to the LA Times’ Neal Leitereg who is reporting the listing today.

With an internal area of approximately 478 square metres, the seven bedroom home, in the neighbourhood of Brentwood, is surrounded by a swimming pool, sports court and gardens.

Morissette, whose most popular album Jagged Little Pill was released in 1995, paid $1.795 million for this house in 1996. Earlier this year a safe with jewellery and other valuables totalling more than $A2.5 were stolen from the home.

The singer is selling the property with Rodeo Realty’s Joe Babajian.

The listing comes three months after Morisette’s former business manager, Jonathan Todd Schwartz, was jailed for more than six years for stealing a total of more than $A9.4 million from three clients. Schwartz stole $A6.8 million between May 2010 and January 2014 from Morissette who in court described his behaviour as “long, systemic, drawn out and sinister”.

In May it was also reported Jagged Little Pill would become a musical.

Earlier this month, Morisettee confirmed she would be touring Australia for the first time since 1999.
