Prisoner ‘halfway house’ for sale

A modest Abbotsford home used by producers of TV show Prisoner as a half way house is for sale.

The two bedroom plus study at 138 Park Street could sell for more than $550,000.

It was screened on television between 1979 and 1986 as Driscoll House – inside and out.

A prominent “Pure Velvet Soap” mural is still intact.

The University of Melbourne said the property was constructed as a corner store to accommodate the suburb’s large industrial workforce.

Collins Simms selling agent Paul Osborne will auction the home next month.
