Lindsay Fox, Max Beck kick off another commercial project
Lindsay Fox and Max Beck have kicked off construction of another suburban Melbourne office after scoring two pre-commitments – one from a business upsizing from next door.
The four level complex at 74-76 Hargrave Avenue, at the south-east corner of English Street, Essendon Fields, will contain 3650 square metres.
It replaces Building 77 – a 1960s workshop and freight handling building constructed as an extension of Melbourne’s original international airport terminal, which was recently demolished.
A sod turning event was held Friday.
The deal comes four months since realestatesource.com.au reported Essendon Fields Corporation started building a light-industrial estate at the north-east corner of the 305 hectare airport site.
74-76 Hargrave Avenue
The Animal Referral Hospital will expand from its Essendon Fields clinic at 72 Hargrave Ave – the old International airport Main Terminal.
Owned by Greencross Pet Wellness Company, ARH will add 11 consultation rooms, four operating theatres, critical care facilities and advanced diagnostic imaging including CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and digital X-ray (continues below).
The tenancy will also include oncology and endoscopy rooms, specialised wards and recovery areas.
The business will continue to operate 24 hours, seven days a week.
ARH will be joined by Elite Training and Sports Medicine, which pre-committed to the balance 2200 sqm.
The health and wellness complex will replace an East Keilor headquarters, combining gym and training areas with physiotherapy, remedial massage, reformer Pilates, yoga, group fitness, recovery amenities including hot and cold plunge pools and saunas.
There will also be allied health consulting rooms, a café and co-working areas.
Mr Fox and Mr Beck control Essendon Fields – 11 kilometres from the CBD – through a long-term leasehold arrangement with the federal government, acquired in 2001 expiring in 2100.
