Olympian and Commonwealth Games medal winner Lauren Hewitt selling Glen Iris home
Retired Olympian and Commonwealth Games medal winner Lauren Hewitt nee Fox (pictured), and her husband Richard, appear to have found a buyer for their renovated home in Glen Iris’ leafy Muswell Hill.
The 1920s four-bedroom Art Deco home in tree-lined Britten Street, considered one of the suburb’s best rows, was priced at $3.15 million at the end of last month after passing it at auction on a $2.85 million vendor bid.
The pair paid $2 million for the house just over seven years ago. They reportedly now plan to move overseas for a short period.
Marshall White’s Zali Reynolds and James Redfern marketed the home which is now advertised as “under contract”.
Lauren, the winner of two Commonwealth Games gold medals, was a member of the Australian Track and Field team at Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Sydney and Athens. The sportswoman is now the operator of the Lauren Hewitt Nutrition business.
Any Glen Iris deal comes in the month the parents of 23-year old 2016 Rio Olympic rower Sarah Banting sold their 1920s family home before auction.
In Kew, about five kilometres east of the CBD, and six kilometres north of Glen Iris, the Findon Crescent property carried a price guide of between $4 million and $4.4 million when it was listed by Kay & Burton’s Rebecca Edwards last month.
The Banting parents plan to downsize from the five bedroom renovated and extended home on a 1212 square metre block which they owned since 1995.
